Code of Conduct for Parents and Students

We, the members of Banbha Irish Dance School recognise the importance of maintaining a positive and respectful environment for all students, parents and teachers. Our commitment to professionalism and sportsmanship helps create a supportive and successful atmosphere. By enrolling in our Irish Dance school, all parents and students agree to adhere to the following code of conduct:

For Students:

1.         Respect for Others:

  • Treat fellow dancers, teachers and parents with kindness, respect, and courtesy.
  • Avoid engaging in bullying, harassment, or any form of discriminatory behaviour.
  • Do not comment on a fellow students’ dancing or appearance

2.         Dedication and Effort:

  • Try your best to improve your dance technique, performance
  • Have a positive attitude to correction from teachers, they just want to you get better
  • Put in consistent effort to improve and contribute positively to the dance community.

3.         Sportsmanship:

  • Show good sportsmanship at all times, whether winning or losing.
  • Applaud and support fellow dancers’ accomplishments.

4.         Communication:

  • Communicate openly and respectfully with teachers about concerns or questions.
  • Listen attentively to instructions and feedback.

5.         Responsibility:

  • Take responsibility for personal dance shoes, costumes and belongings.
  • Keep the dance studio\hall clean.

For Parents:

1.         Supportive Behaviour:

  • Encourage and support your child’s passion for dance in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Avoid putting undue pressure on your child to achieve specific results.

2.         Respect for Others:

  • Treat dancers, teachers and parents with kindness, respect, and courtesy.
  • Avoid engaging in bullying, harassment, or any form of discriminatory behaviour.
  • Do not comment on a child’s dancing or appearance
  • Familiarise yourself with the school’s policies, rules, and guidelines, and ensure your child follows them.

3.         Communication:

  • Maintain open and respectful communication with teachers and other parents.
  • Address concerns or questions through appropriate channels and in a timely manner.

4.         Attendance and Participation:

  • Ensure your child attends classes, rehearsals, and competitions on time and prepared.
  • Support your child’s commitment to their dance schedule.

5.         Sportsmanship:

  • Teach your child the importance of good sportsmanship, respect for peers, and grace in both victory and defeat.

6.         Etiquette:

  • Teach your child appropriate behaviour and etiquette in dance settings.

7.         Positive Environment:

  • Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere among parents, students, and teachers.

By adhering to this code of conduct, we collectively uphold the values of Banbha Irish Dance School and ensure a rewarding and respectful experience for all members of our dance community.
